Software Engineer (.NET or JAVA or C )

Job Description:

My Client is looking for a highly-motivated and skilled individual, who will bring key skills to the role and is keen to learn new skills as the role develops. This individual must be a good all-round software developer, and be willing to learn, adapt to, and exploit new technologies.
The successful candidate will work in close knit and highly skilled multi-disciplinary teams focused on designing, building, testing and delivering new functionality for commercial software products.
The candidate shall be experienced in the development of detailed software requirements and shall be expected to use UML to capture the software design.

Required Skills:
- Must have, and be able to demonstrate, strong development skills in one or more of Java, C++ or .NET, and be keen to learn the others as required.

Desired Skills:
- Experience of software development on both Windows and Linux platforms.
- Good working knowledge of UML.
- Knowledge of networking and real-time integration technologies e.g. DDS, CORBA, other middleware.
- Will ideally have, but is not required, experience of commercial software engineering, working practices and methodologies.
- Experience in developing Graphical User Interfaces, in particular through use of Geographical Information System (GIS) tools (e.g. ESRI, Luciad products).
- Knowledge of modern web development technologies; XML, HTML, JavaScript, MVC patterns, J2EE, Ajax, Spring.
- C# / .NET
The position requires an experienced individual with a strong defence background and you must be prepared to undergo a security clearance vetting process.
